Hi, I'm Ari! I'll be your counselor here.

My hope is that one day I could meet you, discover what makes you unique, hear your story and become a companion along the way. Before we can do that, I’ll go ahead and tell you a bit about myself.

I’ve only become a counselor because I have, probably much like you, been in great need of hope, help, and wisdom. This has been particularly true as I have struggled with chronic health problems for the last ten years. As I have surfed the waves of pain and upheaval from Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Elhers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), I have continuously found myself in need of new grace to face the mounting pressures of life. Loss, grief, hopelessness, fear, extensive weakness, relational stress, and confrontations with mortality have become familiar faces. These struggles among others have caused great pain, but have also become windows to receiving more profound comfort, hope, and renewal in Jesus than I knew possible. I’ve found that the Lord really has more grace than I could have hoped for, and this is what I’m most passionate to help others find for themselves as well.

But not everything has been so serious! I had the privilege of studying Psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (B.S.) and had the joy of marrying my absolute favorite person, Jon, in 2022. Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and general trauma care has became a passion of mine as I have worked in various orphan care spheres over the past 10 years. I am now certified as a Certified Christian Trauma Care Provider Level 2 (CCTCP-2) through the Christian Trauma Healing Network (CTHN).

I also had the joy of studying counseling at Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS, Charlotte; Certificate in Christian Counseling), which still holds a dear place in my heart. My husband and I are members at New City Church in Charlotte, NC. Apart from these, I find great fun in hobbies like art, cooking and baking, swimming, sewing, traveling, and reading.

I hope that this brief overview has provided some ground for us to connect on! If you would like to connect further, feel free to head to the Contact page, and I’d be glad to hear from you about anything and everything.

Wherever you go next, “may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope” (Romans 15:13).
